The ND Texas Hold 'em Championship wrapped up over the New Year's in Minot, ND. Another rousing success for the tournament, as this year they changed to a $150 entry over the $100 entry. This allowed them some more flexibility with the flight times, chip stacks to start, and increasing the blind levels to 40 minutes.
After all was said and done, Gregg Dahle from Carpio, ND took home the $45,000 first place prize.
Local DPT players who were able to cash were Troy Hagen (13th), Dana Williams (20th), Steve Belland (47th). Congratulations to those 3 and all the others who cashed.

Chris Pierce was able to take down the tournament in Argusville on the 5th and Kent Gronlie bested a field of 65 buy-ins at TJ's in Grand Forks the following day. Christy Doyea cashed in both events, providing a very nice start to the year for her. Eric Davis and Christy were 2nd, 3rd in Grand Forks while Ben Blair and 2012 Season Champion Matt Hamiltion were 2nd, 3rd in Argusville.
New this year for the DPT is the points are based on total entries, including rebuys, to tournaments and we are splitting the year into 2 sessions that will have 2 freerolls.
2012's freeroll is March 9th at the Bowler. This weekend tournaments are in Northwood and Grafton. Stay tuned to the weather and don't hesitate to check ahead. Most poker players are pretty adventurous and there's not much that stops a poker tournament, but be safe!
Next week tournaments are in Hillsboro and Grand Forks and the last week of the month we have tournaments in Abercrombie and then at the M&J Saloon on Sunday the 27th for the Dead Money Open.
